After nine years of depression, I found myself suicide shopping in a local DYI store.
It was at that exact moment I realised that I could’ve been putting that energy in improving my life instead of digging my own grave.
I decided to quit photography school and invest my tuition into traveling instead. I returned to the place where I, for the first time in a long time, was able to break through being desensitized.
About my work
My work in the first place should be aesthetically pleasing. It should represent the strong colours and contrast that I encountered in the places that I have visited. For my print series however, I like there to be more layers to the photograph. Usually I try to visualise the stark difference between the extremities of it’s socio-economic layers, or the mixture between the tropical landscape and the urban constructions.
